Getting started with Kernel is simple, effortless and takes less than 5 minutes. Follow our steps below to start investing tomorrow.
1. Get to know Kernel.
There’s no one size fits all when it comes to investing, so we want to make sure we’re the right fit for you.
As an index fund manager, we’re not trying to pick winners and are here for the long-term. We offer investors the ability to invest in index investments taking a self-directed approach with suggestions along the way. Our investment ethos says it all.
2. Sign up in 2 minutes.
Decided Kernel is the one? Great! Sign up for free in two minutes – all you need is your email address. You can then continue setting up your individual, joint, kids, company or trust account.
3. Confirm it's you.
So we know it’s you opening your Kernel account, we need to confirm your identity. All you need to do this is: 5 minutes of your time, your IRD number, NZ drivers license or passport and bank account details. Don’t have one of these? We can accept a certified copy of foreign passports – get in touch with our friendly team with any further questions.
4. Make your first deposit.
Once you have been verified and your Kernel account is set up, you’ll need to transfer cash to your Kernel wallet. There are no minimum deposit amounts, transaction fees or foreign exchange fees, so depositing money into your account is easy. In fact, for any portfolio balances under $1,000 the membership fee is on us! Any cash deposited will land in your Kernel account within 24-48 hours.
5. Start building your investment portfolio.
Now that you’ve deposited cash into your wallet, you’re ready to start investing. With the option to self-direct your investments, building your investment portfolio is simple and hassle-free. Looking to set and forget? Set up your auto-invest in three clicks.
6. Adjust or cancel anytime.
Your investment portfolio is yours, and yours alone. You can access it any time through our online investor dashboard to make a deposit, edit your auto-invest or cancel an order. Want to withdraw your money? No problem, we’ll have it in your bank account within two working days. No lock-ins, no transaction fees and no hard work.
